Just a quick post to show latest progress on the K8B airbrakes. Below are the ribs cut away for the airbrake box, the completed box next to the leading edge of the wing in the picture.
And then below two views of the completed box in place in the wing and airbrake blades extended. Stayed with the ugly 3mm bolt and nylon lock nuts to keep everything together - not as neat as rivets but simple and functional.
Holes have since been drilled through each rib in the wing from the root for the pushrods and everything has been glued in. Now just got to fix up the sheeting top and bottom and cover. Really running out of time here now - hope I can finish by the weekend ...
