Evan & Piet relaxing during a flight of over an hour in the early mornings, mainly thermal generated, lightish lift with their Tsotsi's.
Edmund flying his 2,5met Tsotsi. Also over an hours flying time.
One hour and 2 minutes to be exact!
Piet heading to the slope with his Discus.
Teddy Brown at the ready.
Barbie's Ken and Friend at the ready.
Evan & Piet at the ready.
For a perfect simultaneous launch of the DG1000 and Discus.
Soaring the ridge.
Concentrating hard.
DG1000 - fly-by.
And then, suddenly the wind dies and it's a scramble to land.
Unfortunately the DG1000 stalled on the down wind turn and crashed on the front of the slope. It is one of the traits of these China Models DG1000. They tip stall very easily. Fortunately the damage was not too bad. Confined mainly to the 6mm Carbon joiner breaking in half and the wingtip separated at the glue joint. There is also a little damage to the fuselage. Mainly the Gellcoat paint job cracking loose.
Relaxing under the tent with a nice cold beer and reflecting on the days flying.
